Life Lately

Life Lately

On June 21st, we had the honor of attending the Nadeiah's Warriors Foundation A Moment In Time gala—an evening dedicated to honoring childhood cancer survivors and remembering the brave children we’ve lost. It was a powerful, emotional, and deeply meaningful night!

Our sweet Maddie was honored that night. Seeing her name, her story, and her light recognized in such a beautiful way—it meant everything. We were reminded, yet again, that her impact continues to ripple far beyond what we can see.

Jeremy and I also had the chance to meet other parents who are walking this same heartbreaking journey. There was an unspoken understanding between us. A quiet strength in shared glances and conversations. It helped us feel a little less alone.

Life has felt a bit overwhelming lately. School has been stressful, and juggling it all has taken its toll. But the kids are fully into summer now—soaking up every bit of sunshine, adventure, and freedom. Their joy is such a gift.

This past weekend, we were surrounded by most of Maddie’s favorite people. Being in that space, so close to her two-year angelversary on June 27th, brought a lot of emotions to the surface. Two years without her still doesn’t feel real some days. The ache doesn’t go away—but neither does the love.

In the middle of the grief, there was beauty—community, remembrance, and so much love. We miss her with every fiber of our being, but we carry her with us into each of these moments.

Thank you for continuing to remember Maddie and walk beside us.

With Grace,
Candace
